Eggers Named to 2011 "Wisconsin 75"

 

Once again, Eggers is proud to be named to the "Wisconsin 75", an award sponsored by the Milwaukee office of Deloitte & Touche USA that recognizes the top state companies that are majority-owned by individuals, family or employees. This is the fifth year that Eggers has received this honor.

 
WDMA Announces Release of Updated Standards

 

The WDMA has just released two updated editions of its architectural wood door standards:  WDMA I.S. 1A-11, Industry Standard for Architectural Wood Flush Doors, and WDMA I.S. 6A-11, Industry Standard for Architectural Stile and Rail DoorsThis rewrite now has WDMA standards harmonizing with the 2009 Architectural Woodwork Standards, published by the Architectural Woodwork Institute (AWI), the Architectural Woodwork Manufacturers Association of Canada (AWMAC) and the Woodwork Institute (WI).  You can also find the standards here.

 
WDMA to Establish New Council

 

The Window and Door Manufacturers Association (WDMA) has just announced that they are establishing a new council, the WDMA National Architectural Door Council™ (NADC), to represent the interests of leading manufacturers of architectural wood doors and their suppliers.  This new council will be responsible for creating programs and services to serve this market segment and provide networking and educational opportunities for its members.  "The architectural wood door industry is a unique subset of the overall window and door industry with distinct issues which WDMA recognizes can best be addressed by the formation of the council," said Ann Duebner, Vice-President of Sales and Marketing for Eggers and WDMA Vice Chair.  "I'm excited by the possibilities and look forward to Eggers' participation in the council."  For more information about the NADC, visit www.wdma.com/nadc.

Ann Duebner of Eggers Industries Appointed to WDMA Leadership Position

 

April, 2011 - The Window and Door Manufacturer's Association (WDMA) recently announced its new leadership team and Ann Duebner, Vice-President of Sales and Marketing for Eggers Industries, was appointed Vice Chair of the Door Division.

 

The WDMA is the premier trade association representing the leading manufacturers of residential and commercial window, door and skylight products for domestic and export markets.  Ann has served extensively with the WDMA throughout her career with Eggers and is currently a member of the Technical  Committee, Legislative Committee and the Interior Products Standard Committee.

 

This appointment places Ann on the Executive Committee and she will assume the role of Chairperson of the WDMA Board in 2012.

July, 2010 - Eggers Industries is now offering FSC Certified Structural Composite Lumber  (SCL) core flush doors.

Formaldehyde Standards

 

June, 2010 - The U.S. House of Representatives passed the Formaldehyde Standards for Composite Wood Products Act on June 23.

 

The bill, which gained Senate approval earlier this month, includes many key components of the California Air Resource Board's formaldehyde standard.  It will be sent to President Obama for his signature.  Read more...

LEED for School Acoustical Requirements

 

November, 2009 - The USGBC’s LEED 2009 for Schools has modified the IEQ Prerequisite 3: Minimum Acoustical Performance.  The requirement to design classrooms and other core learning spaces to meet the Sound Transmission Class (STC) requirements has been removed.  The EIQ prerequisite only requires classrooms to meet Reverberation Time (RT) per ANSI Standard S12.60-2002.  Read more...

November-December - 2010
This month's newsletter begins with an informative article on the LEED for Schools requirements and Eggers new acoustical (STC) ratings that now qualify. Why should you choose real wood acoustical doors versus metal? The answer is found in this newsletter along with information regarding the proper storage and handling of architectural wood doors, the changes to California's product requirements and AWI-QCP's Q-certified doors.

FSC certified SCL core construction is now available. This product is also American made which also supports the "Buy American" act. Eggers' eiDOOR™ with a replaceable edge is now available with a 45 or 60 minute fire rating. Eggers' most impact-resistant wood flush door is now even more versatile. March-April - 2010
New 45-minute fire door core offers allows Eggers and distributors to be more competitive. This new approval for 45-minute no urea-formaldehyde particleboard and FSC-certified no urea-formaldehyde particleboard allows Eggers' distributors to meet the many requirements without sacrificing price. You will also find an easy breakdown of the many acronyms and abbreviations used throughout specifications. Commercial cold press, acoustical definitions and the differences between HPDL and LPDL are just some of what you can learn more about in this month's newsletter.
